Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (PS5)

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a PlayStation 5 action game from Sony Interactive Entertainment, created and developed by Insomniac Games. Ratchet and Clank take on a robotic emperor who wants to conquer cross-dimensional worlds, and they are joined by Rivet, a Lombax resistance fighter from another dimension. This is the physical PS5 disc, rated MENA 7.

A rift between dimensions

The emperor in question is set on conquering cross-dimensional worlds, and Ratchet and Clank's own universe is next in the firing line. Their dream team gains a new member in Rivet, who comes from a parallel dimension and fights with the resistance there.

Along the way you explore planets you have never seen before, as well as parallel-universe versions of old favourites. The game uses dimensional rifts to shuffle the action, so levels and gameplay change quickly.

Why play it on PS5

This game was built to show off the PlayStation 5. The DualSense wireless controller delivers haptic feedback so you can feel in-game actions, and adaptive triggers give you finer control over advanced weapon mechanics. The listing notes that the vibration function and trigger effect are required.

The console's SSD supports near-instant loading when you planet-hop, and Tempest 3D AudioTech (with compatible headphones) places sound all around you. Remote Play is supported, and the game is PS5 Pro Enhanced for extra polish on that console.

With a MENA 7 rating, it is also a PS5 showcase title that is open to younger players than most action games on the platform.
