Tempered glass is superior for almost all smartphone use cases: 9H hardness rating resists scratches from keys and coins, smooth glass surface maintains the original touchscreen feel, straightforward bubble-free installation with alignment trays, and it absorbs and distributes impact energy on drops — protecting the phone screen beneath. Plastic film is thinner and more flexible — useful for watches, curved screens, or irregularly shaped devices where rigid glass cannot conform.

This depends entirely on the screen protector's design. Many standard tempered glass protectors reduce fingerprint sensor accuracy or require extra pressure. Protectors specifically designed for in-screen fingerprint readers (marked as 'fingerprint compatible' or 'FP-friendly') use thinner glass and optical clarity materials to maintain full sensor function. Always choose a screen protector that specifically lists compatibility with your phone model's fingerprint sensor type.

The installation environment matters significantly — apply in a bathroom after a hot shower, as steam settles airborne dust particles. Process: clean screen with alcohol wipe, remove all lint with the included tape sticker, peel the protector backing, use the alignment tray or guide stickers to position accurately, lower from one edge (not dropping flat), then use the squeegee card to push any bubbles outward from the center. Small remaining bubbles usually disappear within 24–48 hours as the adhesive fully bonds.
