Worms Rumble (PS5)

Worms Rumble is Worms reinvented: a real-time, arena-based fighter for up to 32 online players. This is the physical disc for PlayStation 5, published by Team 17 Digital LTD and rated GENERIC 7.

Real-time combat, no turns

There is no turn-based combat here. Every round happens in real time, so when an opponent is raining fire on you, you can hit back straight away.

Matches are online, with up to 32 players and cross-platform play between console and PC. Deathmatch and Last Worm Standing are available as solo and squad battle royale modes, so you can fight on your own or alongside friends.

Gameplay and features

• Classic weapons such as the Bazooka, Holy Hand-grenade and Sheep Launcher
• New weapons including the Hammerhead, Plasma Blaster and Rocket Shield
• Seasonal and community events and daily challenges that earn XP and in-game rewards
• The Lab, where weekly experimental modes bring new ways to play
• Customisation with weapon skins, outfits, accessories and emotes
• In-game purchases are optional

Why play it on PS5

Worms Rumble is an online-first game: online play is required and PlayStation Plus is needed to play online. If you have friends on PC or other consoles, cross-platform play means they can join the same battles.

The physical disc is simple to share and keep with your collection.

If you are coming from classic Worms, the biggest change is pace. Instead of waiting for your turn, you are always in the fight, positioning yourself, choosing a weapon and reacting to what the other players do. Because progression is tied to XP and in-game currency, there is always something to work towards between matches.
