The Last Stand: Aftermath (PS5)

The Last Stand: Aftermath is a single-player action adventure rogue-lite for PlayStation 5, and this listing is the physical PS5 disc. It comes from Con Artist Games, creators of The Last Stand series, and is published by Armor Games Inc.

Survive the ruins as one of the infected

You choose a survivor and head out to explore the ruins of civilization, finding fuel to travel to new locations and gathering supplies to craft weapons and more. Hordes of zombies still roam the streets, and you are no superhuman. In fact, you are one of the infected yourself.

Eventually you will die, whether from the undead or from the virus in your own body. When that happens you pick the game up again as a new survivor, with perks and upgrades earned from your progress.

Gameplay and features

• Premium single-player action adventure in a rogue-lite structure
• Choose a survivor to explore the ruins of civilization
• Find fuel to reach new locations
• Gather supplies and craft weapons
• Perks and upgrades carry over based on how far you got
• Zombie hordes make it a game where you must stay on your toes

Why play it on PlayStation 5

The game supports the DualSense wireless controller with vibration and trigger effects. It is a one-player, offline-only game, so there is no online subscription to worry about. The rogue-lite loop suits short runs and repeated attempts.

Who it is for

This game is for players who enjoy the rogue-lite structure: you are expected to fail, and the point is that each failure feeds your next run through perks and upgrades. The zombie setting, crafting and fuel-hunting give each expedition a survival flavour, and as a premium, standalone single-player game on a physical disc it is a self-contained purchase. It is rated GENERIC 18, which marks it as a game for adults.
