Stranded Deep (PS4)

Stranded Deep is an open-world survival adventure from BEAM TEAM, and this PS4 disc drops you into the Pacific after a mysterious plane crash. You are alone, or with a friend, with no way of calling for help, so you must do whatever it takes to stay alive.

Alone in the Pacific

The premise is simple and harsh. After the crash you are stranded in the vast expanse of the ocean, with hunger, thirst and exposure working against you from the start. The Pacific has its own dangerous creatures, and every decision about where to look for supplies matters.

The goal is to live long enough to escape, and the game gives you the freedom to explore both underwater and on land while you look for what you need.

Gameplay and features

• Open-world survival after a mysterious plane crash
• Explore underwater and on land
• Hunt for supplies to craft tools, weapons and shelter
• Manage hunger, thirst and exposure
• Face the dangerous creatures of the Pacific
• Play alone or with a friend in co-op multiplayer

Why play it on PS4

Co-op is available online for up to 2 players, which requires PlayStation Plus, so you can share the survival effort with a friend. The DUALSHOCK 4 controller provides vibration. The age rating is PEGI 16.

On-screen languages include English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.

It suits players who enjoy slow, resourceful survival loops. Building a shelter, finding food and working out what to craft next gives each session its own goals, and the option to team up with a friend takes some of the pressure off.

There is no fixed route through the game. You set your own priorities, whether that means food and water first or a sturdier shelter, and the underwater areas give you a second environment to learn.

Game details

Survival fans can add it to their PlayStation 4 games. A spare pad from the PlayStation controllers collection is useful for long sessions, and the PlayStation consoles range covers the console.
