Sonic Forces (Nintendo Switch)

Sonic Forces is a Sonic the Hedgehog platformer for Nintendo Switch, published by SEGA and supplied as a physical game card. It is rated PEGI 7 and is a single-player game.

Three ways to run

The game is described as a Sonic title where you create a custom character equipped with powerful gadgets. You also speed through ruined landscapes as Modern Sonic, and catapult past perilous platforms as Classic Sonic.

That mix of three playstyles is the main hook: the game belongs to the Sonic the Hedgehog series and lists the Action, Adventure and Platformer genres. It was released on Nintendo Switch on 7 November 2017.

Why play it on Nintendo Switch

The game card format makes it easy to add to a Switch collection and to swap between games. Sonic Forces is a one-player game, so it is a good fit for solo play sessions rather than group evenings.

If you already own other Sonic titles on Switch, this one adds the custom character idea to the series' familiar speed.

Some practical points before you order. The card is made for Nintendo Switch, and the PEGI 7 rating makes it suitable for children as well as adults. It is a one-player game, so it is best for someone who wants a solo adventure, and the Standard edition is the only version supplied. The custom character idea is the feature that sets it apart from other Sonic games in the series.
