SnowRunner (Nintendo Switch)

SnowRunner is an off-road driving and simulation game for Nintendo Switch, published by Focus Entertainment and supplied as a physical game card. It is rated PEGI 3 and lists support for up to four players.

Next-generation off-road driving

The game's description promises a next-generation off-road experience, and the genre tags on this listing, Racing and Simulation, show where the emphasis lies. This is a game about getting from A to B in difficult terrain rather than winning a sprint.

It was released on Nintendo Switch on 18 May 2021, and the Standard edition is the one supplied here.

At a glance

• Racing and Simulation genres with an off-road focus
• Support for up to four players
• Rated PEGI 3, suitable for all ages
• Physical game card for Nintendo Switch
• On-screen text in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Korean and Chinese

A PEGI 3 rating is the lowest on the scale, which makes it an easy purchase for a family library.

Why play it on Nintendo Switch

A game card is the simplest way to own a Switch game: put it in your console and start driving. With nine on-screen languages and support for up to four players, SnowRunner is easy to share between family members, which makes it a flexible pick for a household that plays together.

If you like slow, deliberate driving games more than arcade racers, the Racing and Simulation tags are a good sign of what to expect.

Some practical points before you order. The card is made for Nintendo Switch, and the PEGI 3 rating means there is nothing in the age rating to stop younger players from joining in. The player count of up to four makes it suitable for shared sessions, while the Racing and Simulation labels suggest a game for those who enjoy a slower, more thoughtful style of driving. It is the Standard edition from Focus Entertainment.
