Sniper Elite 5 (PS5)

Sniper Elite 5 is the PS5 instalment of the tactical sniper series, published by REBELLION DEVELOPMENTS LTD and supplied as a physical disc. It is rated MENA rating 16 and takes the action to the coast of Brittany in 1944.

France, 1944 and Operation Kraken

The story follows elite marksman Karl Fairburne, who is part of a covert US Rangers operation to weaken the Atlantikwall fortifications. Making contact with the French Resistance, he uncovers a secret Nazi project called Operation Kraken, one that threatens to end the war before the Allies can invade Europe.

Many of the real-world locations were captured using photogrammetry, which is how the maps recreate a lived-in environment. An improved traversal system lets you cover more ground, with ziplines, slopes to slide down and ledges to shimmy along to reach the perfect vantage point.

Gameplay and features

• Campaign playable solo or with a partner, sharing ammo and items, giving orders and healing each other
• Gun physics that factor in gravity, wind and heart rate
• Workbenches to customise scopes, stocks, barrels and magazines
• Invasion Mode, where another player can invade your campaign as an Axis sniper or drop in to help
• Adversarial multiplayer for 16 players, plus Survival mode with up to 3 other players
• Enhanced X-ray kill cam

You can also pick your ammunition to suit the target, from armour-piercing rounds right down to non-lethal ones, and earn XP, medals and ribbons in multiplayer.

Why play it on PS5

The PS5 version supports the DualSense wireless controller with both vibration and trigger effects, so the feedback in your hands follows the action on screen. Online play, including the 16-player battles, requires PlayStation Plus, and in-game purchases are optional.

The on-screen text covers a wide set of languages, among them English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Chinese. The disc needs a PS5 with a disc drive.
