Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition (Nintendo Switch)

Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition is a sniper-themed shooter for Nintendo Switch, published by RebellionInteract and supplied here as a physical game card. This is the Ultimate Edition release of the game, rated PEGI 16, and it lists support for one to eight players.

A shooter built around a single bullet

The game's own tagline puts the player at the centre of events and argues that one bullet can change history. That sums up the appeal of a sniper shooter: patience, a clear line of sight and a shot that has to count. The listing places the game in the Action, Adventure and Shooter genres, so expect ranged combat mixed with exploration rather than a pure arcade blaster.

RebellionInteract is the publisher, and the game was released on 1 October 2019 for Nintendo Switch. Because it carries the Ultimate Edition label, this is the fuller version of the title rather than the Standard release, which is worth knowing if you are comparing it with other Sniper Elite games on the shelf.

Why play it on Nintendo Switch

Choosing the game card edition means you simply insert the card into your console and play. Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition gives Switch owners a serious, mature shooter in a library that is often dominated by family titles, so it is a natural pick if you already own the lighter games and want something with a harder edge.

The PEGI 16 rating is worth checking before you buy it as a gift. It is suited to older teens and adults, not young children.
