Riders Republic (PS5)

Riders Republic (PS5) is Ubisoft's open-world sports playground, where the only question is how you want to get down the mountain: on skis, a snowboard, a bike or a wingsuit. This is the physical disc for PlayStation 5, so it goes straight into your console's disc drive and onto your shelf afterwards.

It is a game built around variety. One minute you are linking tricks on a snowy slope, the next you are in the middle of a pack of riders racing for the line, and the world is yours to wander in between.

A sports paradise built on national parks

Riders Republic drops you into an open world inspired by iconic US national parks, with Yosemite, Zion and Bryce Canyon named among the heights you can explore. The setting is less about a plot and more about freedom: pick an event, pick your gear, and make your own route through the terrain.

You also build a reputation as you go. Taking part in prestigious events draws the attention of sponsors, and you can customise your character so your style stands out from everyone else on the mountain.

Gameplay and features

• Four ways to travel and compete: ski, snowboard, bike and wingsuit
• Trick challenges and fast-paced races, so you can choose between style and speed
• Mass races where riders collide, grind and fight their way to the finish
• Online play supporting up to 64 players with a PlayStation Plus subscription
• Character customisation to show off your look to friends and rivals
• Sponsor-driven events that reward you for taking part

Online play is optional, so the game works as a single-player experience too. The disc lists one player, and anyone who wants the busy multiplayer side will need PlayStation Plus.

Why play it on PlayStation 5

The DualSense wireless controller is supported with both vibration and trigger effects, so the feel of the ride reaches your hands as well as your screen. Everything runs from the disc you buy, and you keep a physical copy on your shelf.
