RESIDENT EVIL 3 (PS5)

RESIDENT EVIL 3 is a survival-horror action game for PlayStation 5 where Jill Valentine is one of the last people in Raccoon City who has seen what Umbrella did there. This is the physical PS5 disc, released on 13 June 2022, rated MENA 18 and with Arabic on-screen text.

Jill Valentine against Umbrella

Jill is one of the last remaining people in Raccoon City to witness the atrocities Umbrella performed. To stop her, Umbrella unleashes its ultimate secret weapon: Nemesis.

That sets up a game that is about being hunted. You play as Jill in an Adventure and Action experience built for one player, with tension coming from a pursuer that is not going to give up.

Because the game is about pressure rather than exploration, it appeals to players who enjoy a fast, tense pace over slow puzzle-solving. The cast and setting are tied to the wider Resident Evil story, but the campaign is self-contained enough to follow on its own.

Gameplay and features

• A single-player campaign starring Jill Valentine
• Nemesis, Umbrella's ultimate secret weapon, as the threat
• Adventure and Action gameplay in a ruined Raccoon City
• DualSense vibration and trigger effect supported
• The listing also mentions Resident Evil Resistance, a 1 vs 4 online multiplayer game in which four survivors face a sinister Mastermind
• Optional in-game purchases
• Remote Play supported

Why play it on PS5

On PS5 the DualSense wireless controller supports vibration and trigger effects, which suit a game where every shot matters. Remote Play is supported too, so you can carry on the chase on a compatible device.

The disc is for a PS5 with a disc drive and does not play on the PS5 Digital Edition. On-screen text covers twelve languages, including Arabic, Spanish, French, Japanese, Russian, German, Polish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, English and Thai, and the game is published by CE Europe Limited with the copyright held by Capcom.

Because it carries a MENA 18 rating, it is meant for adults. If you enjoy survival horror that keeps you on the move, it is a strong entry in the series.
