Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare (PS4)

Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare is the explosive co-op and multiplayer shooter that took the Plants vs. Zombies series into online action. It is published by EA for PlayStation 4 and blends the depth of a traditional online shooter with the humour the series is loved for.

A mine-blowing world of plants and zombies

Garden Warfare sends you into a battle between plants and zombies across a colourful, mine-blowing world. You choose your side, take on opponents online and take advantage of a roster of characters that you can customise to suit your style.

A newer release in the Garden Warfare franchise, Garden Warfare 2, has since followed, but the original remains the place where the shooter format began. If you want to start at the beginning of the Garden Warfare story, this is the disc to look at.

• Customisation for your favourite plants and zombies, including new ones
• Rated with a MENA rating of 12

Why play Garden Warfare on PS4

The game is built around online play, and the listing says online play is required and that PS Plus is needed to join up to 24 online players. If you already have an active PS Plus membership, you can drop into matches with friends and strangers alike.

The comic tone makes it a good fit for players who want a shooter without a grim atmosphere, and the physical disc makes it easy to keep in your collection.

It is also a handy pick for anyone who played the sequel first and wants to see where the series began, or for players who like a shooter that does not take itself too seriously. The character customisation gives you a reason to keep coming back, and the co-op waves are best enjoyed with a few friends on your team.
