Overcooked (PS4)
Overcooked is a chaotic couch co-op cooking game on a PlayStation 4 disc, built for one to four players. It is published by Team17 Digital Ltd and developed by Ghost Town Games Ltd, and with a PEGI 3 rating it is easy to put in front of the whole family.
Save the Onion Kingdom, one order at a time
The Onion Kingdom is in danger, and only the finest cooking can rescue it. You and your fellow chefs travel through a series of cruel and unusual kitchens on a quest to become master chefs, with the goal of defeating an ancient edible evil that plagues the land.
Every kitchen is a puzzle of its own. Orders arrive, ingredients need preparing, dishes need cooking and serving, and customers will storm out in a huff if the team cannot keep up. Success comes from talking, passing tasks around and staying calm when things go sideways.
Gameplay and features
- Prepare, cook and serve a range of different dishes before impatient customers leave
- Play solo or in couch co-op with up to four players
- Co-operative and competitive challenge modes
- Work as a team to become the most effective chefs in the kingdom
- PEGI 3 rating, suitable for younger players
- Remote Play supported
The co-op focus is what makes the game memorable. It rewards communication and a bit of friendly panic, and it works just as well as a short pick-up game with friends as it does for a longer family session.
Why play it on PlayStation 4
This is a physical disc for PlayStation 4, so it is ready to play straight from the disc. The same disc plays on a PS5 with a disc drive, though not on a PS5 Digital Edition. Because the game supports up to four players on one console, an extra controller or two is all you need to get everyone in the kitchen, and Remote Play is supported too.
On-screen text is available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. Arabic is not listed in the specs.
