ODDWORLD: SOULSTORM (Nintendo Switch)

ODDWORLD: SOULSTORM is an action adventure for Nintendo Switch, published by Microids and released in October 2022. It picks up the story of the slaves who escaped the industrial megacomplex of RuptureFarms. It is a 1-player game on a physical game card with a PEGI 12 rating.

Free from the chains, not from the danger

300 freshly liberated slaves are celebrating their escape from RuptureFarms when a new menace rises. They soon discover that although their physical bonds were broken, they are far from free.

That premise sets up the tone of the game: the escape was only the beginning, and a larger threat is waiting for the survivors.

Why choose the Nintendo Switch version

This is the Nintendo Switch edition, supplied as a physical game card. It is a single-player experience, so it suits playing alone at your own pace.

Languages include Japanese, English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Chinese. Arabic is not listed. The edition is Standard, and no extra content is listed.

The listing is brief on mechanics, so this page does not describe the gameplay in detail beyond the genres, Action and Adventure, and the story premise.

What stands out is the scale of the premise. Three hundred freed slaves is a whole community rather than a lone hero, and the line about physical bonds being broken but freedom not yet won sets a serious tone. A PEGI 12 rating means it is suitable for players aged twelve and over.

The Standard edition was released on 27 October 2022 and is published by Microids.
