Mortal Shell II (PS5)

Mortal Shell II is a standalone sequel to the original Mortal Shell, now out on PS5 on a physical disc. It builds on the first game with faster combat, deeper weapon design and a compact open world to explore.

Possess fallen warriors in the Undermether

The corpses of exceptional warriors lie scattered across a destroyed world. When you find one, you can possess it and awaken its strengths and mastered abilities. You build your own style of combat by using what each warrior offers, and you unlock their secrets as you uncover lost memories.

You play as the Harbinger, a being who must reclaim the Undermether's stolen eggs, which are now ruthlessly guarded by grotesque, dangerous creatures. The route takes you through derelict temples, forbidden forests, icy graves and citadels carved out of bone.

Why play Mortal Shell II on PS5

The PS5 edition is listed as PS5 Pro Enhanced and supports the DualSense controller's vibration function and power saver mode. It is a single-player, offline-only game, so your progress is not tied to a connection.

On-screen text is available in English, German, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian and Chinese. Arabic is not listed. The age rating is GENERIC 18, and the game was released on 20 August 2026.

Fans of the first game will notice what has changed: faster combat, more weapon depth and a world that is meant to be explored rather than only fought through. New players are not left behind either, since this is a standalone sequel.
