Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is a Capcom RPG on Nintendo Switch that sets the Monster Hunter world in an adventure of its own. This listing is the standard edition on a physical game card, rated PEGI 7 and listed for one to four players.

A monster-filled RPG takes flight

The official description calls it a monster-filled RPG that takes flight. It belongs to the Monster Hunter series, but it is classed as Adventure and RPG rather than pure Action, so expect a role-playing journey set in the world of the series.

It was released on 9 July 2021 and published by Capcom, with one to four players supported.

Gameplay and features

• Adventure RPG in the Monster Hunter series
• One to four players
• Rated PEGI 7, a lower age rating than the main Monster Hunter games
• Published by Capcom
• Physical game card for Nintendo Switch
• Text in ten languages including English, French, German and Spanish

With a PEGI 7 rating, Wings of Ruin is a good entry point to the series for younger players, while fans of the franchise can enjoy it as a more story-driven spin-off.

As a spin-off, it is a way into the wider Monster Hunter setting for players who prefer the structure of an RPG. If you already know the series, you will recognise the focus on monsters; if you do not, the PEGI 7 rating and the Adventure and RPG tags make it a friendly first step.

Why play Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin on Nintendo Switch
