Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (PS5)

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is the flagship civil flight simulator from Microsoft Corporation, available here as a physical disc for PS5. The Standard Edition includes more than 65 aircraft and 150 handcrafted airports, and it turns flying into a full aviation career rather than a series of free flights.

Build an aviation career anywhere on Earth

The game lets you start your career wherever you like on the planet. You gain experience, build a reputation and complete certifications that unlock authentic aviation work, from medevac and remote cargo operations to aerial firefighting and search and rescue, all the way up to flying as an airline passenger transport pilot.

If you prefer to compete, the new Challenge League mode pits you against other pilots, and dozens of activities cover everything from rally races and precision landings to low-altitude challenges. There is also a World Photographer path, where you travel to natural vistas and famous landmarks and record them in a travel book. You can even land almost anywhere and step out of the aircraft to explore on foot.

Simulation depth and features

• Over 65 aircraft and 150 handcrafted airports in the Standard Edition
• Physics for more than 10,000 rigid-body surfaces, plus soft-body physics for cloth, ropes and balloons
• Detailed aircraft systems including electrical, pneumatic, fuel and hydraulic systems, passenger and payload systems and avionics such as the Universal UNS-1 FMS and Honeywell Primus Epic 2
• Flight planner with IFR and VFR map layers, IFR charts, fuel and payload planning, vertical profile and ETOPS planning
• A digital twin of Earth with over 500 TIN cities and more than 100,000 square kilometres of photogrammetry countryside
• Preflight inspections and walkaround checks for extra immersion

The world is built from a mix of hand-crafted and procedural content: more than 2,000 glider airports, 10,000 heliports, 2,000 points of interest and 900 oil rigs are hand-crafted, while a procedural system generates all 40,000 airports, 80,000 helipads and about 1.5 billion buildings.

Why play Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on PS5

The PS5 version supports vibration and trigger effects on the DualSense wireless controller, so throttle and control inputs come with tactile feedback. It also supports PS VR2 and the PS VR2 Sense controllers as optional extras, with sitting and standing VR play styles, and Remote Play is supported too.

Online play is required for this game, and optional in-game purchases are available. It is rated MENA rating 3, so it is a simulator the whole household can enjoy.
