Metro Redux (Nintendo Switch)

Metro Redux is a single-player first-person shooter for Nintendo Switch, published by PLAION. It is set in a world that has been devastated by an apocalyptic event, with the earth's surface turned into a poisonous wasteland, and it is rated PEGI 18.

A world after the apocalypse

The premise is stark: in 2013, an apocalyptic event devastated the world, wiping out almost all of mankind and leaving the earth's surface as a poisonous wasteland. That setting drives the atmosphere of the game.

The listing places Metro Redux in the Action, First-Person Shooter and Shooter genres and supports one player. If you like shooters that lean on atmosphere and a bleak, high-stakes setting, the premise is the draw.

If most of your Switch library is made up of family titles, a physical copy of a single-player shooter with a bleak, adult setting offers a very different kind of game. Keep the PEGI 18 rating in mind if younger players share the console.

The physical card format makes it straightforward to add to a collection, while the seven on-screen languages (English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Dutch and Russian) cover a good range of European players. It is a first-person shooter, so expect to see the world through the eyes of your character.

Why play it on Nintendo Switch

Metro Redux is available on a physical game card for Nintendo Switch, published by PLAION. A card is simple to use and does not need a download before you can play.

The PEGI 18 rating means this is a game for adults. As a one-player experience, it suits long solo sessions, which is how most players enjoy shooters with a heavy atmosphere.
