Mario Tennis Aces (Nintendo Switch)

Mario Tennis Aces is a tennis game for Nintendo Switch, published by Nintendo and developed by Camelot. You rally against fan-favourite characters in intense matches, play with up to four people and can hand it to almost anyone, since it carries a PEGI 3 rating.

Tennis with familiar faces

Mario Tennis Aces sits in the Sports and Tennis genres and belongs to the Mario sports line. The idea is straightforward: pick a character you like and play tennis against other well-known names from the series.

Camelot is credited as the developer, and the matches are described as intense, which suits a sport built on back-and-forth rallies. Even if you have never played a tennis game before, the format of a single match against one opponent is easy to follow.

Gameplay and features

• Tennis matches against fan-favourite Mario characters
• Sports and Tennis genres
• One to four players
• Rated PEGI 3, one of the lowest age ratings
• Developed by Camelot and published by Nintendo
• On-screen text in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese
• Physical game card for Nintendo Switch

If you are buying for a family, the combination of a PEGI 3 rating and four-player support is the main selling point. Tennis is also easy to explain: one side hits the ball over the net and the other tries to return it. That makes this a title you can hand to a guest who has never held a controller, while regular players still have a reason to keep competing.

Camelot built the game as part of the Mario sports line, so anyone who has played other Mario sports titles will recognise the tone straight away.

Why play it on Nintendo Switch

Aces is a Nintendo Switch game, so everything you need is the console and the game card. With support for up to four players, it works for a head-to-head against a friend or for a bigger group taking turns.

Tennis is naturally a two-sided game, which makes it a good match for living-room play. The PEGI 3 rating also means it fits households where younger players share the console.
