Mario & Luigi: Brothership (Nintendo Switch)

Mario & Luigi: Brothership sets the Mario Bros. sailing on a new adventure, published by Nintendo for Nintendo Switch. This is the physical game card, rated PEGI 7, for one player, in the Action, Adventure and RPG genres.

All hands on deck

The publisher's call is simple: all hands on deck, set sail on a new adventure with Mario and Luigi. The title and the nautical hint tell you the theme, and the genres tell you the form: an RPG with action and adventure elements, played solo. If you grew up with Mario role-playing games, or you want a story-led Mario game that is not a platformer or a race, it is the kind of game that suits a quiet afternoon. Because the specs list a single player, there is no need to coordinate controllers or schedules: you can pick up the game card, set sail and play at the pace that suits you, with a PEGI 7 rating that keeps it open to younger family members as well as adults who grew up with the Mario Bros.

What to expect

• A new adventure for the Mario Bros. with a sailing theme
• Action, Adventure and RPG genres in one game
• A single-player experience
• A PEGI 7 age rating
• Part of the Super Mario family of games
• Language options including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Chinese

Why play it on Nintendo Switch

A solo RPG is a good fit for a console you can play at home or take elsewhere, and the physical game card keeps your copy easy to store and lend. The specs list one player, and the languages are Japanese, English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Korean and Chinese. Arabic is not listed. With a PEGI 7 rating, it works for younger players, though they may need help with menus in a language they do not read.
