KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 FINAL CHAPTER PROLOGUE (PS4)
KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 FINAL CHAPTER PROLOGUE is a three-part KINGDOM HEARTS compilation on a physical disc for PlayStation 4, published by Square Enix LTD and rated PEGI 12. It bundles a full HD remaster, a playable side episode and a story movie, so it works as a bridge between earlier chapters and KINGDOM HEARTS III.
Three KINGDOM HEARTS experiences in one disc
The compilation is made up of three pieces. KINGDOM HEARTS Dream Drop Distance HD is a full-HD remaster of KINGDOM HEARTS 3D Dream Drop Distance, brought to PlayStation for the first time. In it, Sora and Riku take on the Mark of Mastery exam as they prepare for their coming showdown with Master Xehanort.
KINGDOM HEARTS χ Back Cover is a new HD movie that tells the story of the Foretellers, connecting the earliest parts of the series history, first shown in the mobile title KINGDOM HEARTS Unchained χ. KINGDOM HEARTS 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage – is a new playable episode told from Aqua's perspective, linking to the story of KINGDOM HEARTS III.

Why play it on PlayStation 4
This is the physical disc for PlayStation 4, with DUALSHOCK 4 vibration support and Remote Play supported according to the listing. It is a single-player compilation, so it suits solo sessions on the main console.
The release date is 23 January 2017. One of the three parts, the Aqua episode, is described as linking to the story of KINGDOM HEARTS III, so it is a natural disc to play before that game.
Each of the three parts adds something different. Dream Drop Distance HD is the full game, the movie is a story presentation about the Foretellers, and the Aqua episode is a shorter playable chapter. That mix makes the disc useful to series fans who want to fill in the lore, and to returning players who want to refresh their memory of how the story reaches KINGDOM HEARTS III. It is rated PEGI 12, and the single-player format keeps the focus on the story.
