Kena: Bridge of Spirits Deluxe Edition (PS5)

Kena: Bridge of Spirits Deluxe Edition is a story-driven action adventure on PlayStation 5, on a physical disc of the Deluxe Edition. From Ember Lab, it blends exploration with fast-paced combat in a charming world, and it is a single-player game with an age rating of GENERIC 12.

A Spirit Guide in a forgotten village

Kena is a young Spirit Guide who travels to an abandoned village in search of the sacred mountain shrine. She struggles to uncover the secrets of a forgotten community hidden in an overgrown forest, where wandering spirits are trapped and cannot move on.

The forest is home to the Rot, timid and elusive spirits scattered throughout the land who maintain balance by decomposing dead and rotting elements. Finding and growing a team of these tiny companions is central to the adventure. The specs do not describe extras for the Deluxe Edition, so we describe the game itself.

The tone is warm rather than grim: the game pairs a charming, richly explorable world with combat that keeps the pace up, so a session can move from quiet discovery to a tense fight in a matter of minutes. Gathering Rot, enhancing their abilities and finding new ways to shape the environment gives you a steady sense of progress as you push deeper into the forest.
