In Nightmare (PS5)

Overview

In Nightmare is a psychological horror adventure game published by Maximum Entertainment for the PlayStation 5. Set entirely within the fractured subconscious of a young boy scarred by a broken family, the game plunges players into a dark, labyrinthine dream world where repressed trauma takes on monstrous physical form. Equal parts emotional journey and nerve-wracking survival experience, In Nightmare challenges you to confront the demons — literal and figurative — lurking inside a child's mind.

Story

The protagonist is a young child whose painful real-world experiences have driven him deep into a twisted dreamscape of his own making. In this surreal nightmare realm, the emotional wounds of a fractured home life manifest as grotesque creatures hell-bent on trapping him there forever. Armed with nothing but his wits and the guidance of a loyal "dream spirit" companion, the boy must navigate haunting, ever-shifting environments, solve clever puzzles, and evade relentless phantom pursuers — all in search of the buried truth within his own mind. Will you help him wake up, or will he remain lost in the nightmare?
