Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment (Nintendo Switch 2)

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment (Nintendo Switch 2) throws you into the epic battles of the Imprisoning War. It is a Nintendo-published action adventure from KOEI TECMO GAMES, and this listing is the physical game card made for Nintendo Switch 2.

The Imprisoning War

Age of Imprisonment belongs to The Legend of Zelda series and is built around one of its great conflicts, the Imprisoning War. The game puts you in the middle of those battles rather than leaving them as background history.

It is listed as Action and Adventure, with support for up to two players. The description stresses that it is only available on Nintendo Switch 2, so this is a console-exclusive release for owners of the newer system.

What to expect

• Epic battles set during the Imprisoning War
• A Legend of Zelda series game published by Nintendo
• Developed by KOEI TECMO GAMES
• Action and adventure gameplay for up to two players
• On-screen text in nine languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Dutch
• A physical game card made for Nintendo Switch 2

Why play it on Nintendo Switch 2

This is a Nintendo Switch 2 game from the start, released on 6 November 2025. The physical game card goes straight into the console, so there is no download to wait for before you start fighting.

A PEGI 12 rating means it is open to teenagers as well as adults, and the two-player support means you can share the war with a friend or sibling.

If you played the earlier Hyrule Warriors games on Nintendo Switch, this one gives the series a home on the newer console. The edition is Standard, and Arabic is not in the listed on-screen languages.

Zelda fans comparing options may also know Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, released on Nintendo Switch in 2020 by the same publisher and developer. Age of Imprisonment shares the up-to-two-player format and the PEGI 12 rating, but it is the one made for Nintendo Switch 2 and set around the Imprisoning War rather than the Great Calamity.
