HyperX Alloy Origins Core TKL Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Black (HyperX Red Linear, US)

The HyperX Alloy Origins Core TKL Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Black (HyperX Red Linear, US) is a tenkeyless board with a full aircraft-grade aluminium body. It combines HyperX Red linear switches with per-key RGB lighting and a detachable braided USB-C cable, and it works with PC and consoles.

Key features

• Tenkeyless (TKL) layout, US English
• HyperX Red linear mechanical switches: 45 g actuation force, 1.8 mm actuation point and 3.8 mm travel
• Full aircraft-grade aluminium body
• Per-key RGB lighting with 5 brightness levels
• On-board memory for 3 profiles
• 100% anti-ghosting, N-key rollover and Game Mode
• Three adjustable keyboard angles
• Detachable braided USB-C to USB-A cable, 1.8 m, with HyperX NGENUITY software

Who it suits

A tenkeyless layout removes the numpad but keeps the function row, navigation block and arrow keys, which makes it a sensible middle ground between a compact 60% board and a full-size keyboard. You get more mouse space than a full-size model without giving up the keys you use for work.

With PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One listed as compatible, it is also an option for players who want to use a keyboard with their console.

Switches and customisation

HyperX Red linear switches press smoothly with no click or bump. The 1.8 mm actuation point and 3.8 mm travel keep movement quick and consistent, which suits shooters and other fast games.

Lighting and macros are handled through HyperX NGENUITY software, and the three on-board profiles keep your settings with the keyboard. Game Mode helps prevent accidental key presses from interrupting a match.

Design and build

The aircraft-grade aluminium body gives the Alloy Origins Core a rigid, durable feel. At 360 x 132.5 x 34.5 mm and approximately 900 g with the cable, it is a substantial board that stays steady on the desk during fast play.

Three adjustable angles let you set a comfortable position, and the 1.8 m braided USB-C to USB-A cable makes it easy to position the keyboard where you want it. 100% anti-ghosting and N-key rollover keep inputs accurate when several keys are pressed at once.
