Gothic 1 Remake (PS5)

The Colony Awaits — Gothic 1 Remake on PS5

One of the most beloved role-playing games of the early 2000s has been rebuilt from the ground up for PlayStation 5. Gothic 1 Remake, published by THQ Nordic and developed by Alkimia Interactive, returns players to the treacherous Valley of the Mines — a lawless, hand-crafted open world teeming with danger, faction politics, and unforgettable characters. Whether you spent countless hours in the original colony or you're discovering Khorinis for the very first time, this is an open-world RPG experience unlike anything else available on PlayStation 5.

The Story: Welcome to the Colony

The Kingdom of Myrtana is at war. Orc invaders threaten the realm, and King Rhobar II is desperate for magical ore to forge weapons powerful enough to repel them. Every available prisoner is conscripted to work the Khorinis mines, sealed inside by a magical barrier erected by the King's most skilled mages. But the spell spirals catastrophically out of control, trapping everyone — guards and prisoners alike — within. The inmates rebel, seizing control and establishing a brutal, faction-divided society known simply as the Colony. Into this powder keg arrives one unknown prisoner… and everything is about to change.
