Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut (PS5)

Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut is the PS5 edition of Sony's action role-playing game, on a physical PlayStation 5 disc. It is rated MENA 18, plays as a single-player adventure, and bundles the Director's Cut extras described below. On-screen text is available in Arabic.

What the Director's Cut adds

The Director's Cut edition includes the Iki Island expansion and the Legends online co-op mode. It also lists a digital mini art book, director's commentary, and in-game items unlocked through story progression: One Technique Point, the Charm of Hachiman's Favour and the Hero of Tsushima Skin Set.

The specs on this page do not describe the story, so we will leave it at that: this is the Director's Cut of Ghost of Tsushima, with its expansion and co-op content included on the disc.

Gameplay and features

• Iki Island expansion included
• Legends online co-op mode, with up to 4 online players with PS Plus
• Director's commentary and a digital mini art book
• Dynamic 4K resolution targeting 60fps on a compatible 4K TV or display
• Lip sync for Japanese voiceover
• Ability to transfer PS4 saved progress to the PS5 game

Why play it on PlayStation 5

The PS5 version is built around the DualSense wireless controller. Haptic feedback and adaptive trigger resistance are required features, so you feel the game through your hands. 3D Audio is supported with stereo headphones, either analogue or USB.

Online play is optional, and a PlayStation Plus membership is needed for online multiplayer. Arabic is one of the supported on-screen languages, along with English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, Turkish and many more, so menus and subtitles are accessible. The specs do not mention Arabic voice-over.

If you want to carry on from a previous playthrough, the PS5 version lets you transfer PS4 saved progress across, so the move to the Director's Cut does not have to mean starting from scratch.
