For Honor is an action and fighting game for PlayStation 4, published by Ubisoft, with a release date listed as 14 March 2024. It is built around close-quarters melee combat and team-based online battles, and it comes on a physical disc for PS4.

Warriors from every age, one battlefield

For Honor is about making your blade an extension of yourself. You pick a warrior from a wide roster of heroes, each with their own weapons and fighting styles inspired by legendary fighters, and take that character into battle against other players.

The factions on offer are Knight, Samurai, Viking, Wu Lin and Outlander. Whichever you choose, you can customise your hero with a wide variety of armour, weapons, colours and materials so that you stand out on the battlefield. The game is also described as ever-evolving, with new heroes, game mode events and maps arriving regularly to refresh the experience.

Gameplay and features

  • The Art of Battle: a 3-directional combat system where you attack, parry and block from three directions
  • A wide variety of weapons and fighting styles inspired by legendary warriors
  • Team-based 4v4 Dominion, where holding objectives pushes back the enemy team
  • More personal 2v2 and 1v1 modes
  • Ranked game modes for players who want to prove themselves
  • Hero customisation with armour, weapons, colours and materials
  • Supports up to 8 online players with PS Plus

Fights are about reading your opponent as much as swinging a weapon, so each duel becomes a small contest of timing and nerve.

Why play it on PlayStation 4

This is the PS4 disc version, and and the same PS4 disc also plays on a PS5 with a disc drive. DUALSHOCK 4 vibration support adds feedback to the clash of blades, and Remote Play is supported.

Online play is required, and PS Plus is needed for online play on PlayStation. The game is rated MENA rating 18, with on-screen text in English. If you enjoy competitive, skill-based fighting and want a title that keeps changing, For Honor is a strong addition to a PS4 library.
