Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach (Nintendo Switch)

Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach is an action-adventure game for Nintendo Switch, published by Steel Wool Games and released on 19 April 2023. It carries the tagline "the next chapter in fear", it is a single-player experience, and it comes on a physical game card for Nintendo Switch.

The next chapter in fear

Security Breach is presented as a new instalment in the Five Nights at Freddy's series, a name that has become shorthand for tense, nerve-testing horror. The tagline tells you what the game is going for: a fresh chapter in a story that its fans already follow closely.

It is listed in the Action and Adventure genres, so expect a game that asks you to move, explore and react rather than simply watch. If you already know the series, the genre tags confirm the style of tension you are signing up for. If you are new to it, the PEGI 12 rating is a useful guide to the level of intensity.

Nintendo Switch is a comfortable home for atmospheric single-player games, and this one comes on a physical game card, so there is nothing to download before you start. The card format also makes it easy to keep in a collection or pass along later.

The on-screen language list covers English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese, which gives players plenty of choice for menus and subtitles. If you have been following the Five Nights at Freddy's series, this is a straightforward way to add it to your Switch library.
