Fire Emblem Warriors (Nintendo Switch)

Fire Emblem Warriors is an action game for Nintendo Switch that sends heroes from the Fire Emblem series into large-scale battles. Published by Nintendo and developed by KOEI TECMO GAMES, it was released on 20 October 2017 and comes on a physical game card for Nintendo Switch.

Fire Emblem heroes on the battlefield

The idea is to clash with legions of soldiers and fierce monsters while playing as characters from the Fire Emblem world. Marth, Xander and Corrin are named among the heroes, so fans of the series get to see familiar faces step out of the strategy genre and into the thick of the fight.

That is the key difference from the main Fire Emblem games: this one is listed under the Action genre, so the focus is on fighting directly rather than moving units across a map. It is a good pick if you enjoy the characters but want faster, more hands-on combat.

Gameplay and features

• Action gameplay against legions of soldiers and fierce monsters
• Play as Fire Emblem heroes including Marth, Xander and Corrin
• Developed by KOEI TECMO GAMES, published by Nintendo
• Supports 1 to 2 players
• Rated PEGI 12
• Physical game card for Nintendo Switch
• On-screen text in English, Spanish, French, German and Italian

Supporting two players means you can bring a friend into the battle instead of taking on the armies alone.

Why play it on Nintendo Switch

A game built around big crowds of enemies and heroes you already know is easy to enjoy in short bursts or longer sessions, and Nintendo Switch handles both. Two-player support makes it a good shared game for the living room, and you only need a second controller to join in.

The physical game card keeps the game simple to store and share. If you are collecting Fire Emblem titles on Switch, this one adds a different style of play to the mix: a fast action take on the series rather than a slow strategy one.
