Far Cry 5 (PS4) is an open-world first-person shooter from Ubisoft, released on 9 April 2018. You liberate Hope County in the heart of Montana from a fanatical doomsday cult led by Joseph Seed and his family. It comes on a physical PlayStation 4 disc, has a MENA rating of 18 and offers Arabic on-screen text.

Liberate Hope County

Eden's Gate holds Hope County, and the job is to dismantle it. You explore the vast Big Sky Country by land, air and water: pilot planes for aerial dogfights, or drift through farmland in muscle cars and ATVs. The world reacts to your actions, so you liberate the county your way. Combat ranges from signature melee shovels to heavy rocket launchers, or deadly stealth takedowns.

Far Cry 5 was released in April 2018 and remains a physical disc for PS4. The squad-recruitment idea means you are rarely alone: specialised rebels offer tactical support, and animal companions scout, distract and attack enemy squads.

Gameplay and features

  • A massive arsenal or stealth takedowns for the fight against the cult
  • A dynamic open world to explore by land, air and water
  • Recruit Guns for Hire and Fangs for Hire, including Boomer the dog and Cheeseburger the bear
  • Play the full campaign alone or with a friend in 2-player co-op
  • Online play for up to 12 players with PS Plus, which is optional
  • DUALSHOCK 4 vibration and optional in-game purchases

Why play it on PS4

The single-player campaign supports 1 player, while online features support up to 12 players with PS Plus. The listing notes that an internet connection, a Ubisoft account and a PlayStation Network account are required to access online features. On-screen text is available in Arabic and English, and the Arabic support applies to on-screen text, not voice. The age rating is MENA 18. Ordering is straightforward: the page shows the platform, format, player count and age rating up front, and the disc is delivered across Lebanon once you order online.
