DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined (Nintendo Switch 2)

DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined (Nintendo Switch 2) is a single-player RPG from SQUARE ENIX, released on 3 February 2026. It invites you to unravel the mysteries of the past, and it arrives as a physical game card made for Nintendo Switch 2. The age rating is PEGI 12.

Unravelling the mysteries of the past

The publisher describes this game as an adventure about uncovering what happened long ago, and the word Reimagined in the title signals a fresh take on the DRAGON QUEST VII name. Beyond that framing, the listing does not go into plot detail, so there is no need for spoilers here: the idea is exploration, discovery and a story that pieces itself together as you play. It is a good pick if you prefer RPGs where the narrative drives you forward, and a quiet evening of solo play is exactly what it is designed for.

As a Nintendo Switch 2 title in a standard edition, it is an uncomplicated purchase: one game card, one adventure, and a rating that is clearly stated before you buy.

Why play it on Nintendo Switch 2

This is a Nintendo Switch 2 release, supplied on a physical game card for that console. If you have just moved to the newer system and want a long RPG to settle into, a title like this gives you plenty of reasons to keep the console switched on. A physical copy also means the game lives on your shelf and not only in a digital library. English is among the supported on-screen languages, so menus and dialogue text are straightforward to read, and the single-player design means you set the pace without needing anyone else to join.
