DayZ (PS4)
DayZ is a hardcore open-world survival game for PlayStation 4 from Bohemia Interactive, set in a post-apocalyptic world full of frenzied infected and other survivors. Online play is required, with PS Plus, and the MENA rating is 18.
Stay alive, no matter what
The game has only one rule: stay alive, no matter what. With no checkpoints or saves, when you die you lose everything and have to start over.
The package includes the original Chernarus map, a 230 km2 environment based on real-life locations, and the Livonia terrain, a denser 163 km2 map with swamps, hunting cabins, sawmills and quarries to explore.
Gameplay and features
The listing highlights:
- Survival mechanics including hunting, crafting, building, health preservation and resource management
- Up to 60 online players, with PS Plus required
- Unpredictable interactions with other players, from friendship to betrayal
- Environmental threats such as erratic weather, dangerous wildlife and pitch-black nights
- Two maps: Chernarus and Livonia
- Remote Play support
Because there are no checkpoints and no saves, every decision carries weight. That is the draw for players who want tension and unpredictable encounters rather than a guided story, and it is also why the game is rated for adults.
Why play it on PlayStation 4
Online play is required, so you need PS Plus and an internet connection. In Livonia, food is scarce, and you will have to learn how to hunt, fish and forage to survive.
On-screen text is available in Russian, German, Spanish, Chinese, French, Polish, Italian, English and Japanese.
The game is published by Bohemia Interactive and credited to that studio. Its online-only design means every session is shared with real people, which is what creates the unpredictable moments the listing describes.
