Cuphead (Nintendo Switch)

Cuphead is an action, arcade, platformer and shooter game from StudioMDHR for Nintendo Switch, billed as the all-cartoon Magical Wondergame. It supports one or two players and is rated PEGI 7.

An all-cartoon Wondergame

The official tagline calls Cuphead the all-cartoon Magical Wondergame, which tells you that its look is the main attraction. Everything is built around a cartoon style, and the genre tags cover action, arcade, platformer and shooter.

That combination suggests fast, demanding play where you jump, shoot and react quickly, with a bold visual identity from start to finish.

• All-cartoon presentation
• Action, arcade, platformer and shooter genres
• One or two players
• Rated PEGI 7
• Physical game card for Nintendo Switch

A game with a distinctive visual style is easy to recommend as a gift, because even people who do not follow games notice the look right away. Combined with the co-op support, it makes a strong option for sharing the console.

Why play it on Nintendo Switch

Two-player support means you can team up with a friend or sibling, and a spare controller is all it takes. The PEGI 7 rating also makes the game accessible to younger players.

The Nintendo Switch version supports Japanese, English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Korean and Chinese on-screen text, so menus and prompts are accessible to many players.

Cuphead is published by StudioMDHR and sits at PEGI 7, so it is open to younger players, though the genre tags suggest the action can be quick and demanding. If you enjoy platformers and shooters in the same game, the combination of arcade and shooter elements is the draw.
