Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered (PS4)

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered (PS4) brings back one of the most acclaimed shooters in the series, remastered in true high definition. It is published by Activision, was released on 26 June 2017 on PlayStation 4 and is rated PEGI 16. This is the standard physical disc, with English and Arabic on-screen text.

One of the most iconic campaigns

The campaign takes you around the globe as you suit up as characters such as Sgt. John 'Soap' MacTavish and Capt. John Price. You battle a rogue enemy group across hotspots from Eastern Europe and rural Russia to the Middle East.

The original release is described as having set a new standard for intense, cinematic action, and as one of the most influential video games of all time. This remaster presents it in true HD.

Gameplay and features

• The classic Modern Warfare campaign, remastered in true HD
• Online mode that introduced killstreaks, XP and Prestige
• Customisable, classic multiplayer modes
• Dynamic 4K on PS4 Pro
• Remote Play and DUALSHOCK 4 vibration
• English and Arabic on-screen text

Why play it on PS4

On PlayStation 4 this is a physical disc. It lists 1 player, with online play optional via PS Plus for up to 19 online players. Remote Play, DUALSHOCK 4 vibration and stereoscopic 3D are supported, and PS4 Pro adds dynamic 4K.

Arabic is included in the on-screen languages alongside English, covering menus and text. Optional in-game purchases are available.

For players who missed the original or want to revisit it, the remaster is a convenient way to play an era-defining shooter with updated visuals.

The online mode is the other half of the package. It is the one that introduced killstreaks, XP and Prestige to the series, and the classic multiplayer modes remain customisable, so players who remember them will feel at home and newcomers can see where those ideas began.
