A summer adventure in Malibu

The story centres on a place, the Malibu Waves Community Center, and the friends who want to protect it. You join Barbie on a fun summer adventure to help save it, which makes teamwork and friendship the heart of the game.

The genres listed are Adventure, Lifestyle and Music, so expect a light, colourful experience aimed at younger players. With support for up to two players, a friend or sibling can share the adventure.

Why play it on Nintendo Switch

The game is a physical game card for Nintendo Switch, published by Outright Games. It is easy to give as a gift, and the PEGI 3 rating means it is suitable for very young players.

A second player can join the adventure, so you can play together instead of passing the controller back and forth. The on-screen text covers eight languages, though not Arabic.

Because it was released in October 2024, it is a relatively recent title among Barbie games on the console.

Music is one of the three listed genres, so the game leans into the fun of a summer setting with a soundtrack-driven feel. The friendship theme in the title makes it a natural choice for playing together, and the co-op option lets two players share it.
