The Attack Shark X66 Tri-Mode Wireless Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - White Cheese is a compact 66-key board that connects three ways: Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4 GHz wireless or wired USB-C. Who it suits

The X66 is for players and typists who want a compact keyboard they can customise. Hot-swappable switches mean you can change the feel later without soldering, and the PCB supports both 3-pin and 5-pin switches.

Tri-mode connectivity makes it easy to use at your desk and on the go: connect over 2.4 GHz for gaming, Bluetooth 5.0 for other devices or the USB-C cable for a wired link. It works with Windows and macOS.

Sound and feel

The leaf-spring gasket mount and 5 layers of sound-dampening foam are there to soften the typing sound and give the board a cushioned feel. The linear Strawberry switches are pre-lubed, so they are smooth from the start.

The keycaps are double-shot PBT, and the per-key RGB plus RGB light bar can be set up through the software.

Controls

The aluminium CNC knob is a quick way to change volume or mute without taking your hands off the keys. A 3000 mAh battery powers the wireless modes, and the 1.5 m USB-C cable handles charging and wired use.

Who it fits

If you are curious about customising a keyboard but do not want to start from scratch, the X66 is an approachable starting point. The box includes a 2-in-1 keycap/switch puller and 2 spare switches, so you can try swapping switches straight away.

The compact 66-key layout saves desk space while keeping the arrow keys, which makes it comfortable for both typing and gaming.
