ASTRAL CHAIN (Nintendo Switch)

ASTRAL CHAIN (Nintendo Switch) is an action-adventure from PlatinumGames, published by Nintendo exclusively for the console. You investigate and fight invading creatures with the help of a special weapon called the Legion. This edition is the standard release on a physical Nintendo Switch game card, and it has been available since 30 August 2019.

Investigate, fight and team up with the Legion

The central idea is the partnership with the Legion, a special weapon you team up with to take on alien-like creatures that have invaded. It combines investigating what is happening with fighting the threat head on.

Action and Adventure are the listed genres, and the game is designed for either one or two players. PlatinumGames is the developer, and Nintendo is the publisher. It is rated PEGI 16, so it is aimed at older players.

Why play it on Nintendo Switch

ASTRAL CHAIN is made only for Nintendo Switch, and this copy comes as a physical game card published by Nintendo. If you are building a library of first-party action titles, this is one of the standouts to look for.

The language options on screen are broad: English, Japanese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian, Korean and Chinese. Arabic is not among them, so players who need Arabic text should keep that in mind.

Players who like their action games with a mystery element will find the premise appealing: you are not only fighting, you are investigating a threat that has arrived from somewhere else, with the Legion at your side throughout.

Whether you play alone or bring in a second player, the game is set up for both. That flexibility is worth knowing about before you buy, especially for households that share one console.
