Assassin's Creed Syndicate (PS4)

Assassin's Creed Syndicate is an open-world action-adventure from Ubisoft, available on a PlayStation 4 disc. It is set in London in 1868, in the heart of the Industrial Revolution, where you lead your underworld organisation and grow your influence to fight those who exploit the less privileged in the name of progress.

Victorian London and its underworld

You play as Jacob Frye, a brash and rebellious young Assassin who enjoys the thrill of fighting his enemies. To reclaim London you need an army, so you rally the city's gangs and take back the capital's streets. The vast open world stretches from Westminster to Whitechapel, with iconic historical figures to meet along the way.

Gameplay and features

• Command London's underworld and rally the city's gangs
• New dynamic fighting system that combines multi-kills and countermoves
• A new arsenal, with the Rope Launcher, Hidden Blade, kukri knife and brass knuckles
• Systemic vehicles: drive carriages and traverse high-speed trains
• Vast open world from Westminster to Whitechapel
• Optional in-game purchases

The Rope Launcher lets you stay as stealthy as ever, while the kukri knife and brass knuckles give you other ways to get the drop on enemies. Between missions, carriages and trains add variety to how you travel.

Why play it on PS4

On PlayStation 4 the game is a one-player experience on a physical disc. Arabic on-screen text is supported alongside English, so menus and subtitles can be read in Arabic. The specs do not list Arabic voice-over. The game is rated PEGI 18, so it is intended for adult players.

Released on 22 October 2015, Assassin's Creed Syndicate puts the focus on a city and its criminal underworld. Rather than working alone, you rally gangs and take over streets, which gives the campaign its own identity.

The toolset supports different styles. You can stay stealthy with the Rope Launcher and Hidden Blade, or go straight at enemies with the kukri knife and brass knuckles, and the new fighting system lets you combine multi-kills and countermoves. With carriages and high-speed trains to use, getting across London is part of the fun.
