Assassin’s Creed Shadows (PS5)

Overview

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is Ubisoft's landmark entry in the long-running action-RPG franchise, now set against the rich, dramatic backdrop of feudal Japan. Available as a physical disc for PlayStation 5, this Standard Edition lets you step into a world of warring clans, moonlit castle towns, and cherry-blossom countryside — all rendered with stunning detail by the upgraded Anvil engine. Critically acclaimed on release, Shadows was named PlayStation Players' Choice for March 2025 and has been praised by IGN, PC Gamer, Kotaku, GameSpot, and Eurogamer alike.

Two Heroes, Two Playstyles

What sets Shadows apart from every previous Assassin's Creed is its dual-protagonist system. Switch freely between two fully realised characters, each with a distinct combat and traversal philosophy:

• Naoe — the Shinobi: A nimble, quick-witted assassin who uses light, sound, and shadow to stay invisible. Grappling hook parkour, shuriken distractions, smoke bombs, and the iconic Hidden Blade make her the series' most refined stealth experience to date.
• Yasuke — the Samurai: A powerhouse warrior who can silence enemies at range with a bow or overwhelm them up close with devastating katana and naginata combos. His approach rewards aggression and direct confrontation.
• Dynamic open world: Shifting seasons, changing weather, and environmental destruction actively alter the tactical landscape — a snowfall muffles footsteps; a storm can mask your approach.
• PS5 Pro Enhanced: Takes full advantage of the PS5 Pro's additional GPU power for elevated visual fidelity and performance.
• DualSense integration: Haptic vibration and adaptive trigger effects bring every sword clash, arrow release, and rooftop sprint to life in your hands.
• Arabic on screen: Full Arabic language support for Lebanese and MENA players — play entirely in Arabic if you prefer.
• Optional online play: Jump online when you want to, or enjoy the full game entirely offline.
• Optional in-game purchases: The core experience is complete on the disc; any additional content is purely optional.

A Next-Gen Visual Showcase

Powered by the updated Anvil engine, Assassin's Creed Shadows pushes the PS5 to new heights. The shimmer of lantern light reflecting off rain-soaked rooftops, the sway of bamboo groves in the wind, the crumble of castle walls mid-battle — every detail is crafted to pull you deeper into its world. Kotaku described it as "one of the most dynamic, fun, and best-looking open-world games I've played this generation," and it's easy to see why.
