AEW: Fight Forever (Nintendo Switch)

AEW: Fight Forever is a fighting and sports game for Nintendo Switch that blends the feel of an arcade wrestling game with the finishers and tandem offensive moves of All Elite Wrestling. Published by THQ Nordic, it was developed by YUKE’S Co., Ltd., the creators of numerous wrestling games that have sold millions of copies.

Arcade wrestling with a pro-wrestling licence

The focus here is on instantly playable, high-energy wrestling rather than a heavy simulation. The arcade approach keeps the action quick to learn, while the licence brings in the signature finishers of All Elite Wrestling and moves that two wrestlers can perform together. If you want to see big moves land and enjoy competing against other people, the game is clearly designed with that in mind.

Gameplay and features

• Arcade-style wrestling game feel
• All Elite Wrestling finishers
• Tandem offensive moves for team-based action
• Fighting and sports genres
• Player count listed up to 4
• Rated PEGI 16
• On-screen text in seven languages, including English, French, German and Spanish

The developer’s background is a real selling point. YUKE’S has made a long line of wrestling games, and that experience shows in the choice to combine an easy-to-grasp arcade style with the spectacle of licensed moves.

Why play it on Nintendo Switch

Wrestling games are at their best with company, and a console that is easy to share around a living room is a good place for that. The game supports up to four players, so you can set up matches with friends. It comes on a physical game card for Nintendo Switch, so it is simple to add to your library and swap with other players. Note the PEGI 16 rating when choosing it for younger members of the household.

Wrestling fans will recognise the focus on spectacle here: the arcade feel, the licensed finishers and the tandem moves all aim for big moments in the ring. It was released on 29 June 2023 and comes on a physical game card.
