8BitDo Pro 2 Bluetooth Controller (Hall Effect Joystick) - Black Edition
Overview
The 8BitDo Pro 2 Bluetooth Controller – Black Edition (Model 80GJ03) is a premium, multi-platform gamepad engineered for players who refuse to compromise. At its core are Hall Effect joysticks — magnetic sensors that never wear out or drift, delivering pinpoint accuracy session after session. Pair that with Bluetooth 4.0 wireless freedom or a wired USB-C option, and you have a controller built for the long haul. Whether you're grinding ranked matches on Nintendo Switch 2, exploring open worlds on PC, or emulating classics on Raspberry Pi, the Pro 2 adapts to your setup effortlessly.
Key Features
- Hall Effect Joysticks: Magnetic analog sticks eliminate joystick drift for lasting, pixel-perfect precision — a true upgrade over traditional potentiometer sticks.
- Broad Multi-Platform Compatibility: Works with Nintendo Switch (firmware 3.0.0+), Nintendo Switch 2 (firmware 20.1.1+), Windows 10 (1903)+, SteamOS/Steam Deck, Android 9.0+, iOS/iPadOS/tvOS 16.3+, macOS 13.2+, and Raspberry Pi.
- Bluetooth 4.0 & USB-C Wired: Switch effortlessly between wireless Bluetooth gameplay and a stable wired USB-C connection for zero-latency competitive play.
- 2 Pro Back Paddle Buttons: Assignable rear paddles let you execute complex moves without lifting your thumbs off the analog sticks — a game-changer for competitive play.
- 4-Way Mode Switch: Instantly flip between Switch, Android, D-input, and X-input modes via a dedicated hardware switch — no software needed.
- 3 Custom Profile Slots: Save up to three fully personalized configurations and switch between them on the fly.
- 8BitDo Ultimate Software: Deep customization via PC, Android, or iOS app — remap every button, fine-tune stick/trigger sensitivity, adjust vibration intensity, and record macros.
- Motion Controls & Rumble: Gyroscope-based motion controls (Switch mode only) and rumble feedback bring games to life. (Note: HD Rumble and amiibo are not supported.)
- 1000 mAh Battery — ~20 Hours Playtime: A generous built-in Li-ion battery charges fully in approximately 4 hours via USB-C.
Who It's For
The 8BitDo Pro 2 is ideal for dedicated gamers who own multiple platforms and want one premium controller that covers them all. It's a standout choice for Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch players who want Hall Effect precision without paying flagship console-controller prices.
