1-2-Switch (Nintendo Switch)

1-2-Switch is a Nintendo party game built around one simple idea: look your opponent in the eye and let the Joy-Con do the talking. This is the physical game card for Nintendo Switch, published by Nintendo and made for one or two players sitting right next to each other.

A different kind of party game

Most video games ask you to stare at a screen. 1-2-Switch turns that around by pointing your attention at the person across from you. The idea, as Nintendo presents it, is to discover the many functions packed into the Joy-Con controllers while you compete head to head. It is a game about showing off the console’s controllers as much as it is about winning, which makes it an easy way to introduce friends and family to Nintendo Switch.

Gameplay and features

• Party genre game designed for one or two players
• Built around the Joy-Con controllers and the different things they can do
• Face-to-face competition, with your eyes on your opponent rather than on a TV
• Rated PEGI 7, so it suits a wide age range at the same table
• Physical game card for Nintendo Switch, published by Nintendo
• Text available in eight languages including English, French, German and Spanish

Because the game is designed for short head-to-head rounds, it fits naturally into a quick gaming break, a family evening or the moment a guest picks up a controller for the first time. You do not need to be a regular gamer to take part, and that is exactly the appeal of a party title like this.

Why play 1-2-Switch on Nintendo Switch

This game exists to demonstrate the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con, so it makes sense as one of the first games to own alongside a new console. Every round puts the controllers to work in a new way, and the competition stays friendly and social. Having the game on a physical game card also means it is easy to lend, swap and keep on the shelf with the rest of your collection.
